Why Join the PTA?

By joining the PTA, you help us meet our school's needs that are outside the scope of the school budget. The Prestonwood PTA supports the teachers, administrators, and children of PWE in countless ways. 

The PWE PTA is honored to be recognized by the Texas PTA for our outstanding membership, volunteer involvement, and school support! Thanks to our PTA members, last year PWE earned 10 state-recognized awards. Please show your school support by recruiting neighbors, grandparents, and other family to become Prestonwood PTA members.

Membership is available for the WHOLE family: moms, dads, PWE students, siblings, alumni, and Future Panthers too! Please sign up everyone as each membership counts towards our ultimate membership goals.

PTA memberships need to be renewed annually.  For those that have previously been PTA members in prior years, please remember to renew your PTA membership for the 2024-2025 school year today!

Common Membership Questions

Do I have to go to meetings?

No. You are welcome to attend general meetings and we would love for you to join us to hear all of the things that our PTA is doing, but it is not required.

Do I have to volunteer or spend a lot of time at the school?

Nope!  Joining the PTA is not the same as volunteering.  You do not have to volunteer to be a PTA member. 

Do I need to join again if I joined last year?

Yes.  All memberships need to be renewed annually.

How else can I help? 

PWE families can donate to Feed the Panther donation drive.  Feed the Panther is a simple and effective fundraiser that allows the PWE PTA to provide the additional programs mentioned and items for our children that RISD and state budgets do not cover. This straight donation drive eliminates the need for door-to-door selling of items where only a small percentage of the money goes to the PTA. Your contribution is tax deductible and 100% goes to the PTA to benefit the students, teachers, and the school!
